Contemporary Wall Art:

Modern painted mural on the staircase of this 1950's house complements a contemporary interior.

We were introduced to this client through an interior designer, who asked us to come up with a mural design for this tall and narrow staircase.

The original 50's features and contemporary decoration of the house encouraged us to look at several artists for inspiration, and we produced several schemes. 

The clean lines and strong graphic colours of Patrick Caulfield's work inform the completed mural, which became an exercise in visual trickery.
The perspective and foreshortening in the picture had to work from the bottom of the stairs and from the floor above.
